Imported subsidized sugar stock seized from a food factory in Multan

 


MULTAN: Regional authorities have failed to curb the theft of subsidized sugar as more foreign sugar was discovered in the food industry on Saturday.

It is the second major sugar cane in the food industry within a week.

According to official paper, the food industry was shut down after the discovery of subsidized sugar.

125 bags of imported sugar were found when Assistant Commissioner (City) Khwaja Umair Mahmood stormed a factory in Timber Market during the arrests of two people.

According to AC, at the time of the raid it was revealed that 350 bags of donated sugar were being used by factory management to make a variety of foods. He said a sugar dealer who supplied subsidized sugar to the factory was still being sought and legal action would be taken.

"Citizens' rights-sponsored sugar are also available in large quantities in the city's retail outlets for R90 per kg," he added.

It is worth mentioning here that instead of submitting an initial information report (FIR) to the owner of the food industry, district officials have lodged a complaint against the factory's work as they did in a previous case in which AC Mahmood received it. a large stock of sugar removed from the biscuit factory on Oct 30. The FIR was installed on two factory workers at the time but not on the owner.

In a letter released on Saturday, two people were arrested, but according to an FIR complaint, only one person was arrested, namely Saeed Ahmad, the factory manager.

According to the application, sent to the Qutabpur police station by Special Price Control Magistrate Malik Naeem Abid, factory officials said the sugar was sponsored by Haji Sattar, owner of Shakeel Kariyana Ghala Mandi.

"Both the industry and its decline when sugar, made for citizens, have been shut down by the City of AC," the value-added magistrate said while recommending that Fire be removed from the manager and dealer.

Sources said that when the sugar stock was discovered in the biscuit industry on Oct. 30, the district authorities said they had closed the factory but that time pressure was put in place from various corners of the region. illegally and claims that only warehouses were closed.
